Sick of Los Angeles

August 27th, 2006 by Annette Douglas · No Comments

I lived in Los Angeles for my entire life and truthfully I was sick of the place. After a layoff last year and not being able to replace the position without driving 80 miles one way I decided to start looking out of state for a place to live. After a 6 month search with the criteria of inexpensive housing, a nice entertainment area and a still decent job market I chose Indy and so far I haven’t been disappointed.

I came to Indy in June for a visit and was able to find a nice house on the west side at a price that I thought was unheard of (at least by California standards). Having officially moved here 6 weeks ago I can say that the people that I’ve run into have been extremely nice and with the exception of on horrible example I can’t say that I’ve run into any genuinely stupid jerks.

Also the job market is good here, I was able to find a job with decent pay within two weeks after I started looking, I start on Monday. The commute isn’t bad, less than a half hour and I hope that it will be interesting. Now my only other want is to find someone to date, sigh.
