Do you remember Steve Martin’s movie, “the Jerk”? Remember how excited he got when his name was published (albeit in the phone book)?
Well, I must admit that it’s pretty cool to see the Indianapolis Business Journal and the Indianapolis Star both run stories about I Choose Indy this weekend.
Even before these articles went to print the site had been growing. As of this morning we’ve seen visitors from 20 states and 6 foreign countries. Traffic started flowing when local blogs started talking about us, but now the biggest traffic generators are organic searches. So we seem to be catching a little wave. And now that we’re published in mainstream Indy media, I hope to see more people posting their testimonials.
Regarding the mainstream media coverage - beyond being cool, this once again shows Indy’s character. While this blog may never make a measurable impact on the Central Indiana ecoomy, the mere fact that it could is enough to inspire citizen journalists to get behind it and tell their friends. Now that’s cool.

I think the Star’s article is a great summary of the site. Special thanks to John Ketzenberger over at the Star for tracking us down and writing such a nice article.
