It has been well over 10 years since my wife and I moved to Indianapolis. A contract job at Eli Lilly brought us down here and we haven’t looked back since. What kept us here even after the contract ended is primarily the people of Indianapolis - friendly, fun and welcoming (inspite of the few bad apples we run in to once in a while); and the job opportunities for both of us. There are only a handful of other places I can think of where my dietitian wife would be able to change her career to IT & programming.
Personally I am an avid developer and technology leader myself. I worked at ExactTarget where most recently I was responsible for an Open API. Since I left ExactTarget I have started my own company Orbicular Technologies, a company that helps individuals and companies adopt Web 2.0. Currently I am the VP, Technology at Right On Interactive. ROI is a data focussed marketing agency. We provide professional services, products and have partnerships with companies such as Salesforce.com and ExactTarget.
