Colts Bandwagon Emptying?

November 1st, 2008 by Jason Bean · 1 Comment

Articles like this one really irritate me. It talks about Colts fans dumping tickets because of the less than stellar start the team has given us this season.

The question though is if this is really fans getting rid of their tickets or just ticket brokers that get there hands on large blocks of tickets that may not have sold anyway? Are these actual season ticket holders that are selling their seats?

I think anyone that has tickets that aren’t going to sell or aren’t interested should be offering them up to schools and youth organizations all around the city. Even if you don’t want to take the time to go to the game because the Colts aren’t living up to your expectations, I’m sure there are plenty of kids that will have a great time going to a game and experiencing the stadium.

What do you think?

Not sure about others, but I’d say the economy may have something to do with it too. I got the chance to see a preseason game, and Indy has a pretty good fan base and tailgating tradition going. I’d be surprised to see a drop off in interest just because they have been a bit sloppy this year. At the same time, when it comes to paying the mortgage or forking out a couple bills for a game, the TV sure looks like a decent alternative.
